Hedgehogs taking a bath. Have you ever given a hedgehog a bath? Hedgehogs love to take baths.

This clip was shared by a foster owner. How to give a pet hedgehog a bath. And the feeling of that hedgehog was very satisfying. Dry the hedgehog off too.

Porcupines, commonly known as porcupines, are the name of several animals belonging to the order Rodentia. They are distributed in both the Old and New Worlds. The name porcupine in Vietnamese can also refer to many species of the order Erinaceomorpha or the family Tachyglossidae of the order Monotremata, which have many characteristics that distinguish them from the Old World and New World hedgehogs. It does not refer to the members of these orders. After the water pigs and beavers, porcupines are the third most widely distributed rodents. Most hedgehogs are 630-910 mm long and have a tail length of 200-250 mm. They weigh 5.4-16 kg, curl up and move slowly. Hedgehogs come in a variety of colors, from brown, gray, and rarely white.

There are two families of hedgehogs, the Eretizontidae and the Eretizontidae, with about 27 species. They have the ability to defend themselves thanks to the sharp feathers around them. The weight of different species of hedgehogs varies greatly. The Rothschild’s hedgehog (Coendou rothschildi), found in South America, weighs less than 1 kg, while the African hedgehog (Hystrix cristata) can reach 10 kg. These two hedgehog families belong to the same suborder Hystricognathi of the large order Rodentia, but are quite different.

The 11 species of porcupines in the Old World Hystridae are almost all terrestrial, generally relatively large, and have clustered feathers. They are thought to have split off from the suborder Hystricognathi 30 million years ago, much earlier than the New World Hystridae.

New World porcupines are generally much smaller than Old World porcupines, but the North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum) can grow up to 85 cm in length and weigh up to 18 kg. Their feathers grow singly rather than in groups, and they are very good climbers, spending much of their time up in trees. New World hedgehogs evolved their own quills (through convergent evolution) and are more closely related to several other families of rodents in the suborder Cavomorpha (guinea pigs) than to Old World porcupines.

Male hedgehogs have longer beaks, pointed heads, elongated bodies, and longer tails than females. Porcupines have shorter beaks, slightly rounded heads, diamond-shaped bodies, and shorter, thicker tails than males.

Hedgehogs eat all kinds of roots, shoots, vegetables, tubers, sweet and bitter fruits…Hedgehogs eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, so they drink very little water…[1] The stomach of a hedgehog is considered one of the most special parts of a hedgehog, especially since there are many plants that are effective against intestinal diseases.

Hedgehogs are almost never infected. The most common disease in hedgehogs is a parasitic skin disease caused by tick bites that cause scabies and intestinal diseases.

Hedgehogs reach maturity after about 8-10 months, reaching an average weight of 8-10 kg/head, and begin to breed. Female hedgehogs go into heat for 1-2 days, while male hedgehogs breed day and night. The gestation period lasts about 3 months until birth, when each litter contains 1-3 pups, usually 2 pups. Hedgehogs usually give birth at night. In particular, mother porcupines not only breastfeed their own babies, but also babies that are not their own. Three days after giving birth, the mother hedgehog will go into heat and will be allowed to breed for her next reproductive cycle.
