The bird loves big fish, but this one seemed too big for him. | Oneechanblog Shorts #shorts #fish

Although the bird loves big fish. Apparently the fish was too big for him.

A clip is shared when the bird chooses a suitable fish to eat.

The Japanese cormorant (Phalacrocorax capillatus), also known as the Temminck’s cormorant, is a cormorant native to the Eastern Palearctic. The species ranges from Taiwan north through Korea and Japan to the Russian Far East.

It is migratory and has been observed diving to considerable depths in search of food.[2]

It has a black body with white throats and cheeks and part of a yellow beak.

The cormorant is a species of cormorant domesticated by fishermen in a tradition known in Japan as cormorant fishing. In Japanese it is called “umiu”. Famous fishing masters in the Nagara River use this species of ayu to catch sweetfish.

The pelican (scientific name: Pelecanus) is a genus in the order Pelecaniformes, family Pelecanidae (Pelecanidae). Pelicans are characterized by their long beaks and large throat pouches, which are used to capture prey and drain water from scooped up prey before swallowing. Most pelican species have pale-white plumage, with the exception of the brown pelican and Peruvian pelican. The beaks and bare facial skin of all pelican species become lighter in color before the breeding season. The eight extant species of pelicans are distributed patchily around the world, from the tropics to the temperate zones, but are absent from the interior of South America, the polar regions, and the open ocean.

Pelicans have long been thought to be closely related to cormorants, tropic birds, and boobies, but are now known to be most closely related to shoebills and hammerheads, and are classified in the order Pelecaniformes. Ibises, spoonbills, herons, and bitterns are classified in the same order. Fossil evidence of pelicans dates back at least 36 million years from a fossil tibiotarsus taken from a late Eocene formation in Egypt, which was found to have striking similarities to modern pelicans. They are thought to have evolved in the Old World and spread to the Americas. This is reflected in the relationships within the genus, as the eight species split into Old World and New World lineages. This hypothesis is supported by fossil evidence from the oldest pelicans.

Pelicans frequent inland and coastal waters, where they prey primarily on fish at or near the surface. They are gregarious birds, migrating in flocks, hunting cooperatively, and breeding in groups. The four white-haired species tend to nest on the ground, while the four brown or grey-haired species nest primarily in trees.

The relationship between pelicans and humans is often controversial. These birds have been persecuted due to competition for commercial and recreational fish resources. They suffer from habitat destruction, environmental disturbance and pollution, with three species being of conservation concern, and they also have a long history of cultural importance in mythology, Christianity and heraldry.
