This is probably the parrot with the most skillful tongue of its species.
The clip was shared by the owner. If the owner trains the parrot to turn the screw with his tongue, he will be very good at it.
Parrots, also known as parrots or cockatoos, are a bird family consisting of about 393 species in 92 genera of the order Psittaciformes [2] that live mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. The order is divided into three superfamilies: Psittacoidea (“true” parrots), Cacatuoidea (parrots), and Strigopoidea (New Zealand parrots). One third of parrot species are threatened with extinction and have a higher combined risk of extinction than any other group of birds (IUCN Red List). Parrots are generally distributed in tropical landscapes, with some species living in temperate regions of the Southern Hemisphere. The places where they are most diverse are South America and Australia.
Parrots are characterized by a strong beak for cracking seed shells, a very curved upright posture, strong legs, and clawed feet. Many parrots are brightly colored, and some are colorful. Most parrot species show little or no sexual dimorphism in the visual spectrum. Parrots form the most diverse bird family in terms of body length. The most important components in the diet of most parrot species are seeds, nuts, fruits, buds, and other plants. Some species may also eat animals and carcasses, while lories and parakeets specialize in nectar and soft fruits. Almost all parrot species nest in tree cavities (or in nest boxes in captivity) and lay white eggs from which weak chicks hatch.
Parrots are one of the most intelligent birds, along with crows, jays, and magpies, and are popular as pets due to the ability of some species to imitate human voices. Parrots are more exploited than any other bird, with wild populations declining due to capture of wild parrots for the pet trade, hunting, habitat loss and competition from invasive species. Measures taken to protect the habitats of some highly charismatic species also protect many less charismatic species that live in the same ecosystems.
